Gadens host first ever Reconciliation Australia Learning Circle. The Learning Circle provided an opportunity for organisations who are part of the Reconciliation Action Plan program to come together to share ideas on how they can maximise the outcomes of their investment in cultural awareness. Managing Director of Arrilla Indigenous Consultants & Services, Shelley Rays AO, was guest speaker at the forum and shared her thoughts on how businesses and organisations can best build cultural awareness and the benefits to businesses of ensuring that their staff are culturally aware. The Learning Circle also included a panel discussion on cultural awareness training and how it has been implemented in different organisations. The discussion allowed participants to learn from the experiences of others and develop strategies to overcome common obstacles. Commenting on Gadens’ decision to host the event, Banking and Finance partner Campbell Hudson said: “Gadens made the decision to partner with Reconciliation Australia to host the Learning Circle because it aligned with our commitment to building enduring relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and other Australians.
We wanted to learn from other businesses on how they had successfully integrated cultural awareness programs and we were also keen to share our experiences with the group.”Since the Gadens Lawyers Reconciliation Action Plan was endorsed by Reconciliation Australia in April 2.
