Motueka teenager Kurtis Mytton has won the ultimate prize of 'Overall Excellence - Top Student' at the recent Blue Light Life Skills Camp held the New Zealand Defence Force base in Burnham, Christchurch. He beat a strong group of young people from the South Island to take the prize on the week long residential course. Blue Light Life Skills Coordinator, Amelia Adcock said Kurtis took top honours as camp staff felt he had showed maturity, intuition, excelled as a team member, displayed positive qualities of leadership and was respectful towards staff and fellow course members. He said it was not too strenuous and gave a good taste of what army life could be like. The program was run by New Zealand Blue Light in partnership with the NZ Police and NZ Defence Force.
